Stephen Johnson, Indigenous Knowledge (IK) Project Officer, will be
working with Traditional Owners, Indigenous groups and others
across the NAILSMA region to develop a strategy for conservation
and application of IK.
The aim is to increase investment into IK from local, regional,
national and international sources, for improved engagement but
also recognition that IK does contribute to better management of
country. Steve is currently a Phd candidate at the University of
Queensland, supervised by Dr John Bradley. He has been working with
the Yanyuwa people at Borroloola for many years.
In September, NAILSMA held its first annual Forum on the Menngen
Aboriginal Land Trust (old Innesvale Station). See story in this
section (NAILSMA Forum).
